BY MARINA VALERA

The perfect 'perfect' jacket (excuse the redundancy) exists. Stylists Anna Casanovas and sisters Helena and Lucia Cuesta explain their ideal characteristics and which their favorites are.

Few things we can say about the leather jacket that have not already been said: a timeless garment that combines with everything, that does not understand styles and that, if you invest well in it, can be inherited from mothers to daughters. The perfect leather one can be as much rock as you want, yes, but it is also suitable to be mixed with classic garments and give a twist to any style, no matter how basic it is. Chances are, you don't know anyone who doesn't have a leather biker in their wardrobe, and yet everyone seems to be on the relentless quest for the perfect leather suck. If, as it happens to many women, you never have the feeling of having found the definitive one or, simply, you think that we are destined to find several "orange socks" throughout our lives, don't worry, you're not alone.

To assist you in this difficult task, we have interviewed three expert stylists and fashion prescribers who, thanks to their experience and talent, know a lot about leather bikers. On how the perfect leather jacket should be and where to find it, the mistakes that are usually made when looking for it, the story behind your favorite or the perfect one that is already on your most immediate wish list. Stylists Ana Casanovas and sisters Helena and Lucia Cuesta respond to our detailed questionnaire with a very specific objective: that you give once and for all with the leather jacket of your dreams.

What is the first thing you usually notice when you see a leather jacket?

In the silhouette, skin type and color.

What three things does the perfect leather jacket have to have at your discretion?

A Timeless silhouette, a skin that ages well over time and is preferably black.

How is the leather jacket that every woman should have in her wardrobe in terms of silhouette, color, skin type, etc. to make it timeless?

For me, it is essential that it is black, with matte leather and a biker look, that is, that it has pockets, belt loops on the shoulders and a collar with flaps.

Let's talk about the details .

Stand-up collar or with lapels? Flaps always.

Zip or clasp closure? 100% zipper.

With or without shoulder straps? With belt loops.

Padded details or without them? Preferably without, but if it has, that is only in the elbows.

Smooth or textured skin? Lisa.

Matte or shiny skin? Mate.

Pockets or without them? With pockets.

With a belt and belt loops on the hem or better without it? Always with a belt.

Is there any other detail that we haven't mentioned that you like a lot or that you don't like at all?

Personally, I do not like bi-color combinations, nor without a belt or pockets. I also do not like excess padding and it is also very important to know how to choose the length. I really like the personalized options, such as those with drawings on the back and the occasional tack.

What are the mistakes that are usually made when choosing a Leather jacket according to your criteria?

Do not bet on leather or options that do not imitate leather well and risk a lot with color. For me, in the end, it is a basic garment that has to work with almost any look.

After rummaging through mountains of clothing for longer then I would like to confess, in line to pay I see the girl in front of ME with my jacket, the perfect jacket

I bought my first biker while walking around Carnaby in London and every time I go I keep going for a walk in the area in case I find any treasure. In Madrid there is also a very very authentic store in Malaysian called the Temple of Susa; you don't always find something the first time, but you have to keep it on the radar because you can find real gems. Currently, with the Internet and e-commerce, we have infinite options but, for me, when looking for the perfect biker I always consult All Saints and Acne.

Which style icon should we take inspiration from when choosing a leather jacket?

Without a doubt Kate Moss and Sienna Miller. Personally, I love taking inspiration from Geraldine Saglio too.

Where, how and when did you find the leather burlington coat factory leather jackets of your dreams?

It was a miracle. Walking through NY I found a pop-up from Alexander Wang. I remember I made an hour and a half of queuing at -7ÂșC just thinking of finding a perfect biker but I knew it was impossible, that it would not happen because they are always the pieces that before disappearing

A Fine Maroon Jacket And The Totoro nylon Stockings

Today I have painted my lips. It has been exciting. "Where are you going?" Eleanor asks me. "Me? Nowhere," I reply with a shrug. He must have thought that his mother is crazy about putting on lipstick to avoid leaving the house or that she is even crazier about going out on the street to skip the curfew. As she looks at me silently in the reflection of the bathroom mirror, and I decide to add a touch of blush to my haggard face, I notice that her little head is evaluating one option or the other. Without adding anything else, he leaves there to go to his room. Five minutes later, come back. She has put on one of her best dresses, a fine maroon jacket and the Totoro nylon stockings that she had brand new and that her father had given her. I'm about to scold him a bit, anticipating a more than likely career in new stockings, when I decide to hold back and instead open the drawer of combs I spend the morning spending time at work and at times following u...
